Mebuis Frameworks

The Fassett Five-Domain Read

A structured assessment that reads a business across five domains at once: financial performance, operations and delivery, market and customer position, organization and leadership, and risk. Problems in one domain usually show up as symptoms in another, so the five are read together rather than one at a time.

  1. Financial performance: Revenue mix, margin structure, cash conversion, and the accounting choices behind them.
  2. Operations and delivery: The end-to-end delivery process and the one constraint that governs output.
  3. Market and customer position: Positioning, pricing, and customer concentration tested against the market.
  4. Organization and leadership: Structure, decision rights, and the people in each seat.
  5. Risk: Concentration, key-person, contractual, regulatory, and cyber exposure, ranked by likelihood and impact.

When an owner knows something is off but cannot say what, or faces a growth ceiling they cannot explain.

Business Assessment

The Mebuis Decision List

The output format Mebuis uses instead of a report: a ranked list of specific changes, each with an owner, a rough time and cost estimate, and the reason it made the cut, sequenced by leverage and difficulty for the next 90 days.

  1. Name the change: One specific action, not a theme.
  2. Assign an owner: One person accountable for it.
  3. Estimate time and cost: Rough, so it can be compared with the others.
  4. Rank by leverage and difficulty: High-leverage, achievable changes go first.
  5. Commit to 90 days: Decide in a working session what will actually be done.

At the end of any assessment or planning effort, so the work turns into action on Monday.

Strategic Planning

Constraint-First Operations

An operations method built on the idea that every business has one constraint governing its output. Find and fix that constraint first; improving anything else adds cost without adding throughput.

  1. Walk the process: Follow real work from order to delivery.
  2. Name the constraint: Find where work waits longest. It is often not where leadership expects.
  3. Fix it with Lean Six Sigma methods: Remove waste and variation at that step.
  4. Find the next one: Once it moves, the constraint moves. Repeat.

When the team is busy but output and margin are not rising with volume.

Operations Consulting

Process Before AI

The rule that a process is mapped and fixed before it is automated. Software and AI speed up whatever process they are given, including a broken one, so automation comes after the process is sound.

  1. Map the current process: How the work is actually done today.
  2. Remove waste: Cut steps, handoffs, and rework that add no value.
  3. Standardize: Make the improved process repeatable.
  4. Then automate: Apply software or AI to the clean process, often built and run by MebuisWorks.

Before buying new software, adding AI tools, or starting a systems project.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who leads the work at Mebuis?

George C. Fassett, Jr. leads every engagement. He founded and built THUMBTECHS, Mebuis, MebuisWorks, and 1908 Builders, has more than 20 years as a CEO, holds a U.S. patent, is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and has an MBA.

How is Mebuis different from a traditional consulting firm?

Mebuis works as operators, not report writers. The people doing the work have run companies with real profit-and-loss responsibility, so recommendations are judged by whether they can be carried out by your team, not by how they look in a slide deck.

Who handles implementation after the plan is set?

Mebuis sets the strategy and priorities. Implementation work such as systems, automation, and technology build-outs can be handled by MebuisWorks (mebuisworks.com), the sister company that builds and runs what the plan calls for, or by your own team.

Where is Mebuis located, and do you work with businesses outside Texas?

Mebuis is based at 1908 Lone Star Rd. Ste B, Mansfield, Texas 76063, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and works with businesses across the United States.
